Sightseeing in the Bucharest's Old Town - free walking tour for EBEEC participants (one and a half-two hours)

Meeting point: The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, in front of Aula Magna, 17.30

During the tour we will walk on Calea Victoriei and see the Romanian Athenaeum, the former Royal Palace (now the National Museum of Art), the Stirbey Palace, the Palace of the National Military Circle, the Vilacrosse Passage, The Stavropoleos Church (the oldest church in Bucharest), the Saint Anthony Church and Manuc’s Inn.

Trip 1. Slanic Prahova Salt Mine (Salina) – One day trip

Slănic Prahova Salina is located about 100 km from Bucharest, in a beautiful landscape, conferred by the hilly area covered by forests. Due to the salt mine, the sulphurous springs on the slopes of the Slănic valley and the seven salty lakes formed on the old salt mines, there has been developed a balneo-tourism activity, documented since 1853, which contributed to declaring Slănic Prahova as a tourist resort of national interest. Mine Unirea (Salina Slanic Prahova), located at a depth of 208 m, on an area of ​​53,000 sq m, was opened for visitors after the 1970s. The touristic circuit goes through a route that allows highlighting some spatial elements of tourist interest in the internal structure of the salt mass, represented by cutes with development on tens of meters, marked by variations of colorful stripes, with shades of gray and white, various mineralogical characteristics (structure, texture, crystallization mode) and the special purity of the salt.

Trip 2. Royal Court Targovishte – One day trip

Târgovişte is the county seat of Dâmboviţa County, Muntenia, Romania. Has a population of about 79,000 inhabitants. Princely and capital residence between 1396 and 1714, the city held more for three centuries the status of the country's most important economic, political-military and cultural-artistic center. It has an area of 5,040 ha. During the reign of Mircea the Elder the town became the main residence of Wallachia. Also during this ruler the Princely Court was restored, whose ruins are now enclosing the Tower Chindia.
